From
you
can explore the beautiful surroundings on hiking trails. The
trails traverse through local dense virgin forests, which boasts
with a wealth of bird life as well as the picturesque lakes of
the Wilderness area.
Alternatively, you can travel on the nostalgic Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam train, which departs twice daily from both George and Knysna respectively. This train journey along the the coast of the Indian ocean and the picturesque scenery of the Garden Route will always bring back happy memories.
You can also undertake day tours to Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn ,Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, and to the Tsitsikamma National Park. These tours offer you a rich variety of attractions amongst others the stalactite caverns of the Cango Caves, ostriches, butterfly and crocodile farms plus many art and indigenous craft markets.
Why not just relax on the Wilderness beach direct in front of the Lodge or at one of the other nearby fine beaches in the area.
For sporting activities there are an abundance of possibilities. Amongst others hiking and mountaineering, canoe trips on rivers and lakes, as well as windsurfing and surfing. But for those with a spirit of adventure there are also extreme sports such as hang gliding, bungee jumping and tubing on the Storms River.
